Topic: This educational call, sponsored by the Young Professionals Council in collaboration with the Medical Staff, Credentialing and Peer Review Practice Group (MSCPR PG), will introduce concepts fundamental to understanding medical staff, credentialing, and peer review (MSCPR) law. The presenters will also discuss common MSCPR scenarios, to give listeners a flavor for the type of work that MSCPR attorneys do. The educational call will be geared towards professionals new to the MSCPR practice area. Participants will walk away with a base level of knowledge that will help them issue spot in their general practice, and the hope is that some participants will gain a new awareness for a specialization area of interest. Topics touched on will include medical staff bylaws, HCQIA compliance and immunity, credentialing/privileging, peer review, and corrective action.
